Infatuation List: I (HEART) Fashion Week!
Friday, April 2nd, 2010Four pieces that make my heart beat louder from Canadian collections for Fall / Winter 2010 @ Toronto’s LG Fashion Week (p.s. I just LOVE fashion week!!!)

Orange Lotus Leaf by Angela Chen F2010
The Side Drape @ Orange by Angela Chen
A side draped detail was seen on pants, shorts and skirts throughout the collection and I found it to be such a refreshing twist to some very basic black pieces. I actually enjoyed the entire collection and would be happy to own almost any piece, but if there was one item from all of Toronto Fashion Week that I could add into my wardrobe, it would be those pants.

Lovas Wesley Badanjak F2010
The Hardware Ornamentation @ Lovas Wesley Badanjak
Sitting front row at this collection allowed for a little sartorial synesthesia. The clinking and swishing of metallic details and flowing fabric combined with the eye-catching sheen of vibrant red under hot lights and flashbulbs made for a glorious little fashion moment as I watched this skirt pass by.

Soniya Khan F2010
The Romantic Distress @ Soniya Khan
Velvet has always seemed stiff and undesirable to me and if I ever had any appreciation for velour that was eradicated by the track suit overload of the 00’s that still hangs on for dear life. But this little distressed dress really changed my mind. It seems cool, uncomplicated, comfortable, romantic and seems to have some great tale to tell.

Dimitri Chris F2010
The Waisted Man @ Dimitri Chris
Masculine corset, half jackets, suited obi belt, whatever you can think to call it, I really enjoyed this quite literal interpretation of a man’s ‘waist coat’ from the 2010 collection. Menswear doesn’t often get to surprise you but still remain wearable (okay, maybe not for everyone, but definitely for a few of fashion elite). All of Dimitri’s boys were full of old-world charm with a contemporary sophistication suitable for not just today’s gentlemen, but any stylish tomboy or fashionista who likes to adopt and adapt great menswear.
